<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a machine from being stopped unnecessarily sheet feeding failure is detected, by feeding paper sheets until sheet feeding has been detected or sheet feeding of prescribed frequency has been performed. CONSTITUTION:Paper sheets in sheet cassettes 13-16 are fed to an image forming part 5 one by one by a sheet feeding means 17. At this time, a detecting means detects whether or not the sheets are actually fed from the sheet cassettes 13-16. After sheet feeding starts, the sheet feeding means 17 is actuated until sheet feeding has been detected by the detecting means or the operation of the sheet feeding means 17 has reached prescribed frequency. If sheet feeding is not detected even when the operation of the sheet feeding means 17 has reached the prescribed frequency during the operation, an error process is taken. It is thus possible to prevent a machine from being stopped unnecessarily when sheet feeding failure is detected.</p> |
