PURPOSE:To obtain cushioning materials which are hard to be displaced even though impact is applied to corners of a packing case and are available for preventing breakage from occurring to an article to be packed, and provide manufacturing method for such cushioning materials. CONSTITUTION:Described in the present in vention are cushioning materials 3 which are interposed between a packing case 1 and an article 2 to be packed. Each of the cushioning materials is composed of a base body 4, which is formed of a part 6 being in contact with the packing case and a part 7 being in contact with the article to be packed with a space provided in between and is made to be in contact with a side face of the packing case, and a pair of opposing bodies 5, each of which is formed of a part 8 being in contact with the packing case and a part 9 being in contact with the article to be packed with a space provided in between and is connected to each of both ends of the base body 4 so that each of the ends 4a of the base body can be brought into contact with each of the parts being in contact with the article to be packed of each of the opposing bodies. The cushioning material is fabricated out of a cardboard 10, approximately in square shape, equipped with four slits 11, 11, 12, 12 which are formed in parallel with one another, extending approximately to the center of the cardboard. For fabricating the cushioning material the middle part 4, separated from other parts with the slits on both ends, is bent and folded up in a square cylindrical shape and each of other parts 5, separated from the middle part with the slits, is bent reversely and folded up in a square cylindrical shape and is bent further toward the inside on a line extending from the slit with such line as its fulcrum. |
