<p>PURPOSE:To increase the quantity of the copied paper sheets per hour by carrying out the transport operation in the state where the interval between the preceding and the succeeding paper sheets is narrowed, for the paper sheet transported in the paper transport passage of an electrophotographic copying machine. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of transport roller devices R1-R5 are arranged in the paper transport passage of an electrophotographic copying machine, and the transport roller devices are driven by the respective motors M1-M5. Sensors S1-S5 for detecting the top edge part of a paper sheet are arranged in correspondence with the transport roller devices, and paper sheet transport is controlled in the transport divisions L1-L4 between the transport roller devices. When the top edge part of the paper sheet is nipped by the transport roller device, the roller in the upstream part of the roller device is driven at a high speed, and a loop is formed at the top edge part of the paper sheet, and control is performed so that the gap between the preceding paper sheet is substantially narrowed, and when the paper sheet is exhausted in the above-described division, the drive control is performed by a controller 40 so that the next paper sheet is sent out.</p> |
