PURPOSE:To coincide the order of loading a document which may not meet due to a jammed transfer paper with that of loading of the transfer paper after forming an image corresponding to it completely and rapidly. CONSTITUTION:A document D1 which is conveyed onto a platen 3 from a document tray 21 is held temporarily before it is returned to the document tray 21 by stopping a discharge roller 5 near a document discharge port 20 through a conveyance route 19 after it is exposure-scanned, and the next document D2 is conveyed onto the platen 3. When the jamming condition of a transfer paper P1' where an image is formed for the document D1 is detected, the next document D2 is carried in a retreat route 10, and the document D1 is returned reversely to the platen 3 with its holding condition released and is exposure- scanned again. The document D1 is returned onto the document tray 21 from the document discharge port 20 when the jamming condition of the transfer paper for the document P1 has not been detected, in other words, only after the transfer paper has been carried out properly inside this device. |
