The fire-resistant door comprises a rectangular metal frame (2) consisting of uprights (7) and transverse members (8), supporting fire-sealing closure panels (3). The panels are formed of U-section metal sheet, with a flat base portion (10) supporting a number of perpendicular (11) and parallel (12) flanges. The flanges of adjacent panels are located adjacent to each other, and sealed against each other by metal clips (13) which overlap the adjacent flanges. The panels fit into the open faces of U- or C-section profiled portions of the frame, and are secured to the frame by welding of the clips to the transverse frame members. ADVANTAGE - Increased resistance to deformation under exposure to heat.
