PURPOSE: To prevent the wearing of a ring and eliminate a reacting force on hinges of wings by forming a concave part functioning as a stopper to engage the edge of the wing on the internal peripheral surface of the ring constituting the valve of an artificial heart valve. CONSTITUTION: Installing members 1b, 1c are formed to constitute a hinge for a wing 2 on a ring 1 surrounding several hinged curved wings 2. A concave part (internal fixed part) 1a which is corresponding to the external shape of an edge 2b of the wing 2 and serves as a stopper of the edge 2b of the wing 2 when the later is in the closing position is formed in the internal peripheral surface of the ring 1. Thus, as the internal peripheral surface will not be worn by the edge of the wing and the edge of the wing will not be stressed when the wing is closed in the area contacting the ring, the reliability of the hinge is raised. |
