EDGING PRESS AND USE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To receive upward force that acts on the main body of slide with a guide rail through a lifting preventing roller and to prevent the lifting of the main body of slide by bringing the lifting preventing roller into press-contact with the guide rail using a press device at the time of moving a die. CONSTITUTION:The edging press whose main body 6 of slide with which the die is held is suspended/supported on a housing 7 so as to be freely moved in the perpendicular direction to the slab feeding direction is provided. The guide rail 15 which is extended in the rectangular direction above the housing 7 is provided, the lifting preventing roller 17 which is freely moved along this guide rail is provided on the main body 6 of slide so as to be freely vertically moved and the press device 22 with which the lifting preventing roller is brought into press-contact with the guide rail is provided on the main body of slide. In this way, the lifting of the main body of slide at the time of edging is prevented and necessary driving force at the time of changing the width or preforming the tip and rear end of the slab is reduced.
