<p>The invention relates to a method for automatically injecting a gas into a casting installation including a large number of ingot moulds each equipped with a hot-top. This method is characterised by the use of gas-introduction slits of particular dimensions, of a gas circuit including reservoirs (R1, R2), flow meters (FT), flow regulators (FT and FV) and pressure regulators (PT and PV), valves (V) arranged so as to be able to maintain a suitable gas pressure over the ingot moulds, to detect any defect on any ingot mould and to verify the condition of the slits after casting. The invention applies particularly to casting installations in which, in order to reduce the space occupied on the ground, the ingot moulds are brought closer together. <IMAGE></p> |
