Automatic preparation of packaged foodstuffs - with cooking programme encoded on packaging or stored in cooker control unit

Procedure for preparing packaged foods in a cooker (1) controlled by an electronic programme has the programme read by a reading head (2) from a coding on the package (4); fed into an electronic storage device; and used by the cooker to control the preparation/cooking process. Also claimed is a domestic cooker for carrying out the procedure. A time switch may be used to introduce a delay between the reading of the programme and the beginning of the cooking process, and the cooking may be interrupted or terminated by an interruption switch. The programme may be adjusted manually before the beginning of cooking. A display element indicates when the food must be turned, when cooling is complete etc. USE/ADVANTAGE - For preparing/cooking packaged foods. The food preparation is carried out in a simpler, more reliable and more labour-saving manner.
