Device for removing flocculatable impurities from liquids consists of an exchangeable filter bag (5) into which the liquid is delivered from above, and has the novel feature that the liquid delivery pipe (9), which may be rigid or flexible, extends into the filter bag so that its outlet (14) is close to the base (10) of the filter. The liquid inlet pipe is provided at its upper end with one or more openings (17) which serve as overflow outlets. The lower end of the liquid inlet pipe may be provided with a bell-shaped element which is located opposite the liquid outlet and reverses the direction of the liquid flow. The inlet pipe may also be provided with radial openings (15) close to its cutlet. USE/ADVANTAGE - For removing flocculatable foreign and/or floating materials - e.g. oil - from liquids. The quantity of flocculant required is minimised.
