In a regenerable ion exchanger unit having a resin container (2) the feed pipes for water, acid and/or alkali solution open out into a joint feed pipe (3) to the pump, each feed being able to be separately uncoupled from the feed pipe (3) to the pump by a controllable shut-off valve (14, 15, 16). The pump is a compressed-air membrane pump (1), feeds directly into one of the liquid pipes opening out either into the top or bottom of the resin container (2) and is provided with a stroke counter (8), a control device (9) connected to the counter (8) being provided to control the volumetric flow rates of water from the water feed and acid or alkali solution from the acid or alkali solution feed via the controllable shut-off valves (14, 15, 16), on the basis of the respective stroke count of the compressed-air membrane pump (1). As a result, a precise metering and mixing of the regeneration liquid fed to the resin container (2) can be achieved and no special safeguards are required for the pump. <IMAGE> |
