The hydraulic operating system is for a vehicle clutch. It incorporates a master cylinder (5) having an operating chamber (4) with a single opening (6) for each position of the piston (3), providing supply (7) to the slave cylinder (9). The supply has an opening (17) at the slave piston (10) end which does not close. The opening is located at the geodetically highest position of the slave operating chamber (11) and is connected to an equalisation vessel (18). A valve is located between the vessel and the operating chamber, which breaks the hydraulic connection if a pressure rise occurs, and releases under pressure relief. USE/ADVANTAGE - For vehicle hydraulic clutch control, automatic venting, slave cylinder can be positioned above master.
