The method improves a visual effect by a sequenteial accumulated light of a light emitting diode for the tape remnant with a constant period count of reel sensors. The method has a tape remnant specified value reading step, a tape remnant dicision step, and a tape remnant displaying step. The device includes a reel rotation detection means, a control signal conversion means, and a sequential accumulated light display means. The control signal conversion means has OR-gates (OR1,OR2,OR3,OR4), and AND-gates (AND1,AND2,AND3,AND4).
