<p>PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of sheet width by detecting the rolling reaction of an edger located at the inlet side of a mill as well as detecting the sheet width from the opening of an edger located at the downstream side and controlling further the rolling reduction of the inlet side edger based on a specific equation. CONSTITUTION:Edgers 1, 3 are arranged at the inlet and outlet sides of a reversing mill 2, and rolling load detectors 6, 7 are provided to the edgers 1, 3 respectively. The reference opening of inlet-side edger 1 is previously inputted to an opening command part 8 from an outlet-side aimed sheet-width, after confirming the (i)th pass by an inlet-side sensor 4. The load detector 6 detects a load at the time when the inlet-side edger 1 is turned on to input the detected load to an adder 18 through a feedback part 13 and a multipiler 17. The arithmetic of a feed-forward part 14 is also inputted to the adder 18 through the multiplier 17. The adder 18 adds the operated results of a monitor part 15 to obtain the arithmetic results of an equation I in order to control the edge-opening command part 8. In this way, the accuracy of sheet width is improved.</p> |
