PURPOSE:To suppress capacity deterioration accompanying charge-and-discharge cycle repetition at a hydrogen occluding electrode by restricting liquid measure of alkalane electrolyte within the limit of the amount per 1AH logical capacity of hydrogen occluding electrode serving as a negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:Liquid measure of alkaline electrolyte in a metal-hydrogen alkaline storage battery is restricted within the limit of 0.50ml-210ml per 1AH logical capacity of hydrogen occluding electrode serving as a negative electrode. Using an aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide in 15 wt%-35wt% as this alkaline electrolyte is more desirable. Hence, together with enabling suppression of capacity deterioration by maintaining liquid measure of electrolyte properly, hydrogen occluding alloy can be prevented from falling and floating on electrolyte, caused by being powdered, occurring when charge-and- discharge cycling is repeated. |
