The discharge tube (1) of a reflector lamp with a metal halide filling is closely surrounded by a transparent tube (29) which is directed along the axis of the lamp and whose end (20) near the cap bears against the reflector (2) and whose end (30) remote from the cap is provided with a terminal part (28).
