The stabilising strut comprises at least two coaxial tubular elements, respectively an upper one (2) and a lower one (3), assembled to one another in a telescopic manner, and a deployment system (14) for axially moving the lower element (3) away from or towards the upper element (2). The upper element (2) is mounted so that it can pivot about an axle (13) carried by the structure (S), the pivoting movement of the strut (1) being controlled by a pivoting system (15) articulated via an axle (21) to the structure (S) and actuated by the system (4) for deploying the strut (1).
