In the drying section of a papermaking machine, where the fourdrinier (4) passes in a closed loop with the web round heated drying cylinders (2,3), a barrier (7) between the rollers (1,3) together with a barrier wall (6) form an outlet gap between the rollers, with an adjustable width. USE/ADVANTAGE - The structure of the drying roller assembly forms a vacuum between the rollers in the web path, by suction or air movement, to hold the paper at the fourdrinier surface and detach it from the roller surface when moving the next roller with the fourdrinier. The level of applied vacuum can be set freely and arbitrarily.
