An embroidery machine has drive mechanisms combined with co-ordinated supports and guides at one level to produce a pattern. The main support frame is reinforced by a crossbar between the long sides, which traverses with the back-and-forward motion, but allows the long support sides of the frame to pass through the bearings. The long supports (5,6) have end sections joined to them. Belt and pulley arrangements with motor drives are placed alongside the support (5) to move back-and-forward, so that the end sections, along with the front support (6) move as a frame on one level. ADVANTAGE - The long support frame on which a series of embroidery heads is mounted, is prevented from distorting, and avoids deformation of the pattern.
