A needled felt intended for use in paper manufacture according to the present invention contains fibres (which have a specific thinness or diameter), which are formed from polyamide block copolymer, especially polyamide block copolymer having hard segments composed of polyamide components such as nylon 12, and soft segments composed of polyester components. The felt according to the present invention has a superior elasticity, recovery and durability compared to other fibres that have a rubbery elasticity, such as elastic polyurethane fibres. In addition the felt according to the present invention permits needling, which has been difficult to perform with other rubber-elastic fibres known in the art. <IMAGE>
