Absorbent (I) for hydrocarbons (II) in waste gas contains Pd and zeolite. (I) is zeolite, pref. of the H-type, contg. Pd, pref. 0.001-10 (wt) % Pd. It may be in loose form or deposited on an inert support, which may be in bulk form or monolithic. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is used for absorbing C2H4 (claimed) and is esp. useful for absorbing C2H4 and other (II) from exhaust gases from engines, esp. petrol and diesel engines, steam boilers and industrial plant.
