PURPOSE:To improve magnetic efficiency and to realize a thin-film magnetic head, being excellent in the wear and abrasion resistance of a contact part and suitable for mass production and its manufacturing method, by reducing the distance between a coil and magnetic pole tip face, in the thin-film magnetic head and its manufacture, in which a head element part is lamination-formed by a thin-film technique. CONSTITUTION:At least lower coil layer 16, insulating layer 17, main pole 18, insulating layer 19, upper coil layer 20 which is connected with the lower coil layer 16 to form a spiral coil, and insulating layer 21, are laminated in the order on a substrate surface 22a being vertical to a magnetic recording medium D of vertical magnetic recording type; and the tip end surface of the main pole 18 is exposed in the manner of coming into contact with the magnetic recording medium D. |
