Date May 30, 1991.In a method of recovering proteins, an antibody raised against a peptide comprising at least a fragment of the protein is immobilized on a solid support, a crude preparation of the protein is contacted with the antibody under conditions resulting in a partial, reversible unfolding of the protein to obtain binding of the protein to the antibody, and the protein is eluted from the solid support under non-denaturing conditions to recover the protein in a form in which it is refolded into its native conformation.
