Movable platform for storing cargo and motor vehicles

An apparatus 10 is described for loading cargo and motor vehicles inside containers which have a substantially rectangular projection. Sets of pillars 40 and 140 are mounted vertically inside the container in a chassis assembly 25. A platform assembly 20 is mounted rotatably in the sets of pillars 40 and 140 which are closest to the inner end of the container C. A lifting arm F, or other lifting device, is used to raise and lower the other end of the platform 20 and use is made of locking assemblies 190 in order to hold the platform 20 in its place, at a predetermined angle relative to the plane of the chassis assembly 25 and of the base of the container C. Sets of front pillars 40 are mounted removably so that the entire apparatus can be stored in a volumetrically efficient manner. Ski (runner) means 100 and wheel elements 102 are mounted in the lower part of the front chassis assembly 25 in order to assist the lifting arm F in the transportation of the apparatus 10.
