PURPOSE:To provide a process (apparatus) for production which can produce a small quantity of disks by shortening the stage for production of the optical disks. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus for production is constituted of a matrix 20 with pit arrays formed, a photoirradiation means 22 which supplies light (UV rays) for molding, a base plate 21 and a pressing means 23. An absorptive layer (colored resin layer) 11 in which the UV rays are absorbed and which allows the transmission of a laser beam for reproduction and a reflection layer 12 for reflecting the laser beam for reproduction, are previously successively laminated on a substrate (transparent resin layer) 10 allowing the transmission of the UV rays. The pit arrays are formed and transferred by supplying the optical disk substrate 1k to the apparatus for production, pressing the matrix 20 bringing it into tight contact with the optical disk substrate 1k from the reflection layer 12 side, irradiating the absorptive layer 11 of the optical disk substrate 1k with the UV rays from the substrate 10 side of the optical disk substrate 1k thereby melting the absorptive layer. |
