ELECTRONIC MAIL DRIVING TYPE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND FILE OPERATING METHOD

PURPOSE:To provide a file operating method for attaining the reading/ writing of files in an electronic computer system by using an electronic mail system. CONSTITUTION:A user applys file operation from a mail terminal 1 through a mail. The electronic mail system 2 stores the applied mail, communicates with a job control terminal 4 and distributes a file operation result to indivisual mail terminals. The terminal 4 receives and interpretes the mail from the system 2, executes conversion from mail ID into host ID, the judgement of access right for a designated file, the generation of a command to a computer processing system 3, and the monitoring of the working status of a host computer and selects an execution host. When a file operation result is sent from the system 3, the terminal 4 generates a mail including the received contents and sends the mail to the system 2. The system 3 interpretes a command issued from the terminal 4 and executes the reading/writing of data from/in a designated file and the reading of a file name list or the like.
