<p>PURPOSE:To improve transmission efficiency by sending/receiving a bit string representing the transmission speed from a transmission terminal equipment and a reception terminal equipment simultaneously before transmission and reception of data so as to decide the transmission speed thereby sending/receiving data. CONSTITUTION:A transmission terminal equipment sends a bit string representing a transmission speed desired to be used by the terminal equipment itself in succession to a start bit ST being a synchronization recovery signal to a transmission line and receives a signal simultaneously. The terminal equipment selects its own transmission speed to a transmission speed represented by a transmission speed bit string MD to be received. Then a reception terminal equipment receives the bit ST and then receives the bit string MD and selects its own transmission speed to the transmission speed represented by the string MD. Three kinds of transmission speeds V0, V1, V2 are represented by transmission speed priority sets 00B, 10B, 11B. The transmission speed is hither in the order of V3, V2, V1 and the priority is hither in the order of V2, V1, V0. The transmission terminal equipment and the reception terminal equipment make transmission of bit strings V1-V2 simultaneously and send a text at a transmission speed offering a best transmission efficiency of the text transmission.</p> |
