PURPOSE:To constitute a magnetic refrigerator for cooling liquid helium by using liquid helium bath under the normal pressure as a high-temperature-side heat source, and directly bringing a magnetic actuator in a demagnetizing process into contact with the liquid helium. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical superconductive magnetic shield 3 at the upper side and a superconductive magnet at the lower side are arranged in high- temperature-side helium bath in the coaxial pattern. A cylinder 6, wherein a magnetic actuator 2 is housed as a movable piston. is arranged at the hollow part between the magnetic shield 3 and the magnet. A pipe path, which communicates with the high-temperature-side helium bath, is provided at the upper end of the cylinder 6. A pipe path, which communicates with low- temperature-side helium tank 50 having a pressurizing means, is connected to the lower end of the cylinder 6. Thus, the magnetic refrigerator is obtained. |
