PURPOSE:To improve the charging efficiency of a nickel active material without any use of cadmium, and provide a nickel positive electrode of an alkaline storage battery having a high utilization rate over the wide range of high to low temperatures. CONSTITUTION:At least one type of groups composed of cobalt, cobalt oxide and cobalt hydroxide, and at least one type of groups composed of a strontium compound, a calcium compound and a zinc compound are added to 100 pts.wt. of nickel oxide as an active material, respectively by an amount of 0.5 to 10 pts.wt. and 0.5 to 5 pts.wt. All these materials are kneaded and s support body is filled with resulting active paste. |
