PURPOSE:To prevent a vehicle from being erroneously guided in the proceeding direction in the case of erroneous detection of the vehicle position with respect to the travelling route guide device which guides the vehicle in the proceeding direction at an intersection when a vehicle approaches the intersection on a predetermined route for travelling. CONSTITUTION:When the vehicle is travelling from an intersection Pi-1 on the predeterminate route for travelling toward an intersection Pi, sectional display discrimination areas SL, SM, and SH in the proceeding directional of the vehicle to the intersection Pi on the predetermined route for travelling are set; and when the vehicle enters one of areas SL, SM, and SH, the area SL is selected in the case of a low vehicle speed, and the area SM is selected in the case of a middle vehicle speed, and the area SH is selected in the case of a high vehicle speed. When the vehicle enters this selected area, the vehicle is guided in the proceeding direction at the intersection Pi with a voice, and thereafter, the intersection Pi is flickered on the road map displayed on the display device till the vehicle enters a passage discrimination area SO. |
