<p>PURPOSE:To suppress drop-out at a reproducing time even when the wear amount of a head is large and to minimize the damage of a tape by providing a movement means moving a magnetic head in the direction of the film thickness of the magnetic tape on a drum. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic tape 1 is wound around the rotary drum 2, and the tape 1 is pressed to a slide surface where the magnetic gaps of the heads 4a, 4b on the drum 2 face by prescribed surface pressure. The tape 1 is recorded or reproduced by rotating the drum 2 at a prescribed speed. The movement means 5a, 5b moving the heads 4a, 4b in the direction of the film thickness of the magnetic tape 1 are provided in the drum 2. The projecting amount of the slide surface of the head 4 from the reference surface 9 of the drum 2 is varied by that an element 5p attached to a supporting part 8 for controlling left and right positions fixed to the drum 2 is expanded/contracted according to voltage and the size of the element is changed by using e.g. a piezoelectric element 5p, and by changing the gap between the supporting part 8 and the head 4.</p> |
