PURPOSE:To speedily identify a target with the shape in specific range from the input image including a number of ghosts such as underground radar, etc., using an image identification device for identifying a target partial image with a shape within a specific range included in the input image. CONSTITUTION:When identifying a target with a shape within a specific range from an input image using traveling/integration of a virtual object, the initial layout position of the virtual object is examined for each integration point by an integration characteristic extraction means 13 after the integration operation by an image operation means 12 is completed. The amount of characteristic is calculated from the relative position relationship between the integration point and the initial layout position of the virtual object, thus judging whether the high brightness region represented by each integration point is a target object or not using the amount of characteristic by a criterion means 14.
