PURPOSE:To improve a maintenance performance by restraining a voltage from boosting at a multiple transfer time, attaining the use of a high-resistance thick dielectric sheet-like recording material carrying means and also eliminating the remaining charge of the recording material carrying means at the reverse electrifying time. CONSTITUTION:The constant voltage of -4kV is impressed on an inside belt destaticizer which is in contact with the inside of a recording material carrying belt from the time of preliminarily electrifying until a 4th color image is formed, and the recording material carrying belt is electrified so as to have a polarity which is reverse to that of a transfer voltage. Also, at a post-rotation process after a final printed image is outputted, the voltage of -2kV is impressed on the inside belt destaticizer so that the surface potential of the recording material carrying belt goes to zero V within a voltage lower than the voltage at the reverse electrifying time. |
