PURPOSE:To provide the function continuing device and game machine which suppress the delay of signals or the loss of power as much as possible and reduce the number of parts. CONSTITUTION:Concerning the game machine to enable a series of games by mounting a freely attachable/detachable game software unit 5 at a main body 1 of the game machine provided with a CPU 2, a ROM 12 incorporating a program, decoder 7 for applying the select signal of the ROM 12, RAM 13 for backup to hold a function outputted from the CPU 2 in the state of applying no power supply from the main body 1 of the game machine, and decoder 8 for controlling the RAM 13 are operated by power supply applied from the main body 1 of the game machine and when the power supply from the main body 1 of the game machine is cut off, a power source is switched by a switching circuit 9 so as to supply power from a battery 11 built in the game software unit 5 to the RAM 13 and the decoder 8 while the power supply is cut off. At the same time, the decoders 7 and 8 and the switching circuit 9 are provided at an IC 10 of one chip. |
