PURPOSE:To vary the pitch and effects of a musical sound auditorily and smoothly by using parameters which vary along linear functions. CONSTITUTION:A pitch, sound volume, etc., when varying along exponetial functions are auditorily natural and smooth, so variation in parameter is converted into variation with an exponential function. In this case, the approximation of y=x<4> to 55.3<x-1> in the section of O<=x<=1 is used to convert the parameters by using a simple biquadratic circuit. The biquadratic circuit is easily provided by obtaining a square circuit by supplying the same signal as a multiplier and a multiplicand of a multiplier and connecting two square circuits in series. |
