<p>PURPOSE:To remove the spent toners on carrier surfaces without impairing the coating resin layers on the surfaces of the continuously used carriers. CONSTITUTION:(1) The carriers and toners are removed after the use of a developer consisting of the carriers formed by coating a core material consisting of a magnetic material with a silicone resin and the toners consisting of a thermally decomposable resin as a component. The toners sticking to the separated carriers are subjected to a heat treatment at a temp. above the decomposition temp. and are removed; thereafter, the carriers are mixed again with the toners. (2) The carriers and toners are otherwise removed after the use of the developer consisting of the carriers formed by coating the core material consisting of the magnetic material with the silicone resin and the toners consisting of the soluble resin in soluents as the component. The toners sticking to the separated carriers are washed away by a solvent which dissolves the toners and thereafter, the carriers are mixed again with the toners. Further, the spent toners are more surely removed by making combination use of the heat treatment and the solvent washing treatment.</p> |
