<p>PURPOSE:To provide a toner fixing device capable of easily processing paper jamming, reducing the generation rate of the paper jamming and further, having simple structure. CONSTITUTION:A heating roller for fixing 1 is rotated in such a manner that a rotational driving force from a driving, source is transmitted via a mother gear 6, a driving gear for fixing 4, an intermediate gear 7, and a fixing gear 3. A fixing backup roller 2 follows the heating roller for fixing 1. The driving gear for fixing 4 is provided so as to rotate by using a shaft part 4c as a supporting point in an engaging state with the intermediate gear 7, on the top end part of a swing arm 5 turned around the shaft part 7c of the intermediate gear 7. Pressing force is imparted to the swing arm 5 from the direction of the arrow F by using the elastic force of a spring, etc., so that the driving gear for fixing 4 is pressed and engaged with the mother gear 6. When a load exceeding a prescribed value is applied to the driving gear for fixing 4, it is moved in the direction of the arrow A against the elastic force and the engagement with the mother gear 6 is released.</p> |
