[Also in Group XXV] A suspension arrangement for cables, transmission lines, and the like is formed by wrapping a plurality of helically pre-formed elements 40 into a tightly gripping encircling relationship with a line or cable 50, said plurality of helices being in contiguous relationship and being of such number and such pitch that the first of said plurality of helices in any right section is spaced from the last thereof, for example 42 and 44 in Fig. 4, at least some of said plurality o helices forming a bight portion 30. An extra element may be laid alongside the elements 40, said extra element having an end that is bent outwardly and that terminates at the neck of the bight.
