[Also in Groups XXII and XXXVI] A triode tube for ultra high frequencies comprises a cathode structure including titanium discs 13, 18, 21 soldered with silver-titanium alloy to ceramic tubes 15, 20. The cathode 17 is supported by disc 18 and a heater 19 is connected to discs 13 and 18. The anode structure comprises titanium member 22 with a flange 23, titanium disc 26 and ceramic tube 24 soldered together with silver-titanium alloy. The two structures are spaced by rings 28, 29 and a titanium grid support 27, the support and discs 21, 26 having soldered with silver-copper eutectic alloy. The titanium parts may be replaced by other metal parts coated with titanium and all surfaces carrying high frequency other than those coated with solder are coated with gold, silver or copper. The titanium is stated to act as a getter. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 735,929. |
