PURPOSE:To reduce time required for making up and processing a foreshortening distortion compensation table used for compensating the foreshortening distortion of an SAR (synthesis aperture radar) image greatly. CONSTITUTION:A DTM input part 1 inputs a DTM (rectangular numerical topography model) with a pixel spacing which is two times larger than that of the SAR image to be processed and a rotary processing part 2 rotates it and then aligns it. A part 3 for calculating the amount of distortion calculates the amount of foreshortening distortion for each pixel of the DTM. A table make-up/processing part 4 make up a geocoding SAR image address/SAR image address correspondence table which becomes the entity of the foreshortening distortion compensation table for the SAR image with the same pixel spacing as that of DTM based on the calculated result of the part 3 for calculating the amount of distortion and then performs enlargement processing.
