PURPOSE:To provide a projection type color liquid crystal display device whose quality and reliability are high without imparing the brightness of a screen in a one-panel system. CONSTITUTION:In the projection type color liquid crystal display device constituted of a liquid crystal panel 14, a mosaic color filter 13, a microlens array 11 provided with a microlens 111 corresponding to each pixel, and a light source, the microlens array 11, the color filter 13, a liquid crystal layer 17, and a pixel element electrode equipped with a switch for driving are provided in order from the light source side, and the color filter 13 and a light shielding layer 12 adjusted at the pitch of the array 11 are formed between counter substrates 16 interposing the array 11 and the layer 17. |
