PURPOSE:To reduce irregularities in the temperature of the surface of a thermal roller by making the heat generation of a heating means on the upstream side of cooling air higher than that on the downstream side. CONSTITUTION:A fixing/carrying device 16 carrys a paper sheet while fixing an unfixed image on the surface of the paper sheet and is provided with a hollow thermal roller 50, bearings 60, a pressure roller 51 and a heater 50a. The thermal roller 50 has a gear 67 arranged at the back side and made of a heat insulating material and a rotary shaft is arranged along the flow of the cooling air. The bearings freely rotatably support the thermal roller 50. The pressure roller 51 is disposed so as to press-contact with the thermal roller 50 and holds/carries the paper sheet between the pressure roller 51 and the thermal roller 50. The heater 50a is disposed along the axial direction of the thermal roller 50, therein and the heat generation at the this side is higher than that at the inmost side. |
