<p>A mirror swing lock mechanism comprising an arm (16) is mounted at one end to the outside surface of a vehicle. A mirror head assembly (18) including a first planar surface (26) is supported on a second planar surface (53) associated with said arm (16). Coacting detent elements (50, 56) are formed on the planar surfaces (26, 53) for locating the mirror assembly in either a first laterally extended viewing position or a second non-rearward viewing position which is generally folded against the vehicle surface.</p> |
