<p>The system positively and accurately positions a pallet accommodating the work on a baseplate fixed to the machine-tool. It has a number of clamping mechanisms each comprising a boss with movable clamping balls passing through its peripheral surface. The boss (20) is hollow, and contains a piston (30) sliding axially and accommodating a floating cone (40) whose peripheral surface (41) works against the balls (45).The balls slide in openings (25) passing through the boss and can be prevented from dropping out. The opening (51) for the boss can be formed by a sleeve (50) on the pallet (100), and whose internal diameter can taper towards the free end where the balls bear against it</p> |
