Each contact point (3) between plates is covered over by several textile mats (4,5,6) which are connected to one another in a full surface manner. The textile mats successively arranged in a plant are arranged with greater counterpoised overlapping and are fixed to one another, whilst each overlapping area between two textile mats has the greatest possible distance from each covered contact point between plates. Pref., the textile mats (4,5,6) are arranged around corners, edges and/or rounded formations of the armouring and are formed by an aramid weave, three-dimensionally woven, and coated with rubber. The free surface of the textile mat (6), partic. in the area of the contact points, is connected with a further armouring plate. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used as an armouring for a road vehicle. It minimises damage and harm to the vehicle and its occupants by a projectile hit at contact points between armouring plates.
