DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM FOR A PLANT PROCESS

In a diagnostic system for a plant process, especially of a power station, e.g. a steam turbine plant, with a plurality of interacting plant components (2, 4, 6), measured values concerning the plant are trasnmitted in a process monitoring system shared by the plant components (2, 4, 6) via a data bus (16). In order to attain a high degree of reliability and service quality of plant, according to the invention the measured values are subjected in analysis modules (a1, ..., an) allocated to the plant components (2, 4, 6) to a module-specific process and issued therefrom as derived characteristics (KG). The derived characteristics (KG) are converted in a qualification section (18) into current symptoms (AS) from which a result of diagnosis (DE) is derived according to rules deposited in a knowledge base (24).
