A process to size warp threads by taking them through an immersion bath, a mangle and then a drying range. A prior process is to take the warp through an immersion bath of water. Typically, the installation has a water immersion bath (24) with immersion roller (26) and mangle (28). The water is at room temperature and contains a chemical additive. The fluid can be filtered to remove unwanted material. The sizing rollers (12) carry the warp threads under and over to ensure the size is applied thoroughly, and this is squeezed out (16) before the threads are separated along the table (18). The thread is then dried by the usual apparatus (20). ADVANTAGE - The water immersion may have an addition of chemical to remove the oil from a synthetic yarn, the subsequent size treatment is then more effective, and the warp can be handled in a customary manner.
