An interactive element for an information recording apparatus, the information recording apparatus having a liquid bearing lubricant between a storage medium and the interactive element which moves relative to the storage medium. In one aspect, the element includes a slider body, the slider body (70) having at least a first and second regions; and an interface element, mounted on the first region of the slider body; wherein the first region of the slider body has a substantially higher drag when moving over the liquid bearing when the interactive element is moving relative to the storage medium than the second region. In one embodiment the element is a recording head for a disk drive, the disk drive having a liquid bearing between a rotatable storage disk and the head. The recording head includes a slider body (70), the slider body having at least a first and second ends; and a transducer element, mounted on the first end of the slider body; wherein the second end of the slider body travels at a flying height which is substantially greater with respect to the disk when the disk is rotating than a flying height achieved by the first end.
