The dry razor apparatus has a short hair cut system (K) on a housing (1). An operating switch turns the electrical drive on and off and adjusts a sliding switch (2) equipped with a long hair cut system (L) over a gear device (G). The gear device is formed from two pivoted elements (6,7). The first gear element is pivoted on the operating switch and is admitted by a spring element (16). The second gear element, which has resting sites (24,25,26) and a control curve, is pivoted on the housing. The second gear element is coupled with the sliding switch by a control element (13) engaging in the control curve and with a spring element, and is operated from the first gear element by a resting element (14).
