The dental tool is used for splitting and spreading part of the jawbone. It has a conical or pyramidal tip (10) with a fairly blunt cone angle. The tip is formed at the end of a gently tapered shaft portion (11). A step separates this tapered shaft portion from a straight or very gently tapered shaft portion (12). A further step separates this shaft portion from the final shaft portion (13) which is fitted with a handle. USE/ADVANTAGE - Blunt wedge dental splitting tool is esp. suitable for working on jawbone.
